Margins in points, measured from each page's own edges

You enter how much to trim from the top, right, bottom and left, and the same amounts are taken off every page.

A point is one seventy-second of an inch, so 36 points is half an inch and roughly 28 points is a centimetre. The measurements are taken from each page's actual edges rather than from an assumed paper size, which means A4, Letter and mixed-size documents are all handled correctly. If you ask for more than a page can give, the tool stops with an error instead of producing something broken.

The content is hidden, not deleted

Cropping changes the visible area of the page. Whatever falls outside it is still inside the file.

This matters and it is the most important thing on this page. Both the media box and the crop box are adjusted, so every normal reader shows the trimmed page, but the text and images beyond the new boundary remain in the document and can be recovered by anyone who edits it or removes the crop. Never use cropping to hide confidential information such as names, signatures or account numbers. For that, the content has to be genuinely removed from the file.

Every page gets the same treatment

There is no page selector and no visual crop box, so the values you enter apply to the whole document.

On a uniform document that is exactly what you want and it is fast. On a document with mixed page sizes or orientations, identical margins produce different visible results page to page, because the same 50 points is a much larger share of a small page. If only some pages need trimming, pull them out with Extract PDF Pages, crop that file, and reassemble with Merge PDF.

Finding the right numbers

Start conservatively, check the result, and repeat. There is no preview, so a first attempt is a measurement.

A practical approach is to try a modest value such as 30 points on each side, open the result, and judge how much further you can go. Scroll through every page before you rely on it, since a margin that works on the body of a document can clip a header or a page number elsewhere. Yes. The crop area is worked out from each page's actual width and height, so A4, US Letter and mixed-size documents are all handled. If your margins are larger than a page, the tool stops with an error instead of producing a broken file.

Is the cropped content really deleted?

No. The tool changes the visible page area (both the media box and the crop box) only. The text and images outside the new area remain in the file and could be recovered by editing it, so do not use this to hide sensitive information.

How do I convert inches or millimetres to points?

Multiply inches by 72, or millimetres by about 2.835. For example, 0.5 inch is 36 points and 10 mm is about 28 points.

Can I crop only some pages, or draw the crop area?

No. There is no page selection and no visual crop box. The same four margin values are applied to all pages, so if your pages have different sizes the visible result will differ from page to page.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The crop is applied in your browser and the new file is created there.
