What you can set on the centre text stamp
The tool draws one line of text over the middle of your image. You control the words, size, opacity and colour.
Watermark Text starts as WATERMARK and can be replaced with anything, such as a name or website. Font Size ranges from 12 to 120 px in the image's own pixels. Opacity ranges from 5% to 100% and starts at 30%, so the text sits lightly over the picture. Color is limited to five swatches: white, black, red, green and blue. The lettering is bold Arial. Position is fixed at centre.
Files, formats and limits
One image per run, saved in its original format.
The picker accepts image files and processes a single file. The output keeps the input's type (JPEG, PNG, WebP and so on, by extension), with no quality control; JPEG output is written at about 92%. Text is not wrapped, so a long phrase on a narrow image can run past the edges. Big photos need a large font size to be visible, because size is counted in real pixels.
When a centre text watermark is enough
It suits quick marks on single images; other tools suit corner marks, logos and batches.
• Marking a client preview or proof image with 'PROOF' or a name at around 30% opacity.
• Adding a website address to a photo before posting a sample.

How much protection to expect
A visible watermark is a deterrent, not a lock.
Anyone can retouch, crop or paint out simple text, and there is no invisible or embedded watermark here. Pick a colour that contrasts with the picture: white vanishes on bright skies and black on dark scenes. The watermark is baked into the downloaded copy and cannot be removed later, so keep your unmarked original.

FAQ
Can I place the watermark in a corner or repeat it across the image?
No. This tool places a single line of text at the centre of the picture only. There is no position picker, tiling, rotation or logo option. To use an image or logo instead of text, try the Add Logo to Image tool.
Why does my watermark look tiny on a large photo?
Font Size is in the image's real pixels, not screen pixels. A 48 px label is small on a 4000 px wide photo. Raise the slider up to 120 px; if the text is wider than the image it will be cut off, since it is not wrapped.
Does a watermark stop people copying my photo?
It discourages casual reuse but cannot prevent it. A semi-transparent line of text can be retouched or cropped out by someone with editing skills. The centre placement makes cropping harder but not impossible.
Which format is the result?
The same format as the input, based on its file extension. There is no separate format or quality control, and JPEG results are encoded at about 92% quality.
Is my image uploaded to add the watermark?
No. The text is drawn on a canvas in your browser and the result is created locally.
