FAQ
What happens to a landscape photo?
It is scaled up until its height fills 1920 pixels and the extra width is cropped, so a wide photo shows only a narrow vertical slice. The slider chooses which slice.
Can I keep the whole landscape image visible?
Not with this tool, because it always crops to fill. To place the full image on a larger canvas, use Canvas Resize.
Where should I put text or logos?
Inside the part of the picture you keep, and away from the edges. The preview shows exactly what is kept; the tool does not know where your subject is.
Does a small image get enlarged?
Yes. The output is always 1080×1920, so a smaller source is scaled up and can look soft. The page tells you by how much.
Does it work for Reels too?
Instagram’s Reels help says a reel can have an aspect ratio between 1.91:1 and 9:16, so a 9:16 frame is inside that range. This page only resizes a picture; it does not make video.
