Why does so much of my photo disappear?
A 4:1 banner is much wider than most photos. A typical 3:2 photo keeps only about the middle 38% of its height, and the rest is cropped.
What kind of source image works best?
A wide image with the subject in the horizontal centre band. Portrait photos will keep only a thin slice.
Can I move the crop up or down?
No, there is no crop selector; the crop is always centred. Use Image Crop first if you want to choose the region yourself.
Will a profile picture cover part of the banner?
That depends on the platform's layout, which this tool cannot see. As a general habit, keep important content away from the edges.
Is the image uploaded?
No. It is processed on your device in the browser.
