What is the shape of the output?

3:1, so 1500 pixels wide by 500 tall.

What happens to a 16:9 photo?

Its width is scaled to 1500 and then the top and bottom are cropped from the centre, leaving a wide strip.

Can I choose which strip is kept?

No. The crop is always centred. If you need a different region, cut it out first with Image Crop.

Will an avatar overlap the header?

This tool does not know how the profile is laid out. As a general precaution, avoid placing important detail at the edges.

Is the picture uploaded?
