Writes one line of header text at the top and one line of footer text at the bottom of every page of a PDF. Both lines are centred, drawn in grey Helvetica, and share one font size between 6 and 16 pt. The tokens {page} and {total} are replaced with each page's number and the page count.

How to Use

FAQ

How do I put page numbers in the footer?

Type Page {page} of {total} in the footer field. {page} becomes the number of the current page and {total} the number of pages in the document. For numbers only, with a size slider, Add Page Numbers is simpler.

Can I use accented, Urdu, Arabic or other non-Latin characters?

Only characters that the built-in Helvetica font can encode are safe, which means basic Latin and common Western European letters. Text in other scripts is likely to fail or not render correctly, since no custom font is embedded.

Can I choose left or right alignment, colour, or different text on odd and even pages?

No. Header and footer are always centred, always grey, and identical apart from the {page}/{total} tokens. They sit a fixed distance from the top and bottom edges, and long text is not wrapped, so a very long line can run past the page edge.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The text is drawn onto the pages in your browser and the result is saved locally, so the PDF is not sent to a server.
