What size does this produce?
Exactly 1080x1080 pixels, every time, whatever the shape of the source image.
Will my wide or tall photo be squashed?
No. It is scaled proportionally and then cropped to a square from the centre. A landscape photo loses its left and right edges; a portrait loses top and bottom.
Does it add white bars around a photo instead of cropping?
No. This tool only crops; it never adds padding or a background colour. If you want the whole picture visible inside a larger frame, use Canvas Resize instead.
How should I frame the photo beforehand?
Because the crop is taken from the centre, keep faces, text and logos away from the outer edges of the original.
Is my picture uploaded?
No. The resize happens in your browser and the file stays on your device.
