How to Use

  1. 1Drop one PDF onto the upload area, or click to choose it. Only one file is accepted.
  2. 2Under Select Operations, tick the steps you want: Compress, Flatten, Remove Metadata, Add Page Numbers. Compress is ticked by default.
  3. 3Check the Execution Order box below the list. Steps run in the order you ticked them.
  4. 4Click Run Workflow and wait for the progress bar to finish.
  5. 5Download the result. The output file name is the original name with -processed added.

FAQ

Does Compress make the PDF much smaller?

Usually not by much. In this tool Compress only clears the title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer fields and re-saves the file. It does not recompress images or fonts, so a PDF full of photos will stay about the same size.

Does the order of the steps matter?

Yes. Steps run in the order you tick them. Each step re-opens the file, and the PDF library re-stamps some metadata fields when it does, so if you want metadata cleared, tick Remove Metadata last.

Can I change the page number position or format?

No. The Add Page Numbers step uses fixed settings: bottom centre, 10 pt Helvetica, numbering from 1, with no prefix or suffix. For other positions or a start number, use the separate Add Page Numbers tool.

Are my files uploaded?

No. All four steps run in your browser and the PDF is not sent to a server. Very large files depend on your device memory.
