How to Use

  1. 1Drop one PDF onto the upload area.
  2. 2Type your name or any text into the Signature Text box. If you leave it empty, the word Signature is used.
  3. 3Drag the Font Size slider (8 to 36 pt) and click one of the six position buttons: top left, top center, top right, bottom left, bottom center or bottom right.

What the typed stamp does to your PDF

Sign PDF draws the text you type onto the last page of your PDF in black Helvetica. You choose the wording, a size from 8 to 36 pt, and one of six preset positions.

The tool opens your PDF in the browser with pdf-lib, writes the text with a plain text-drawing call, and saves a new file named after the original with -signed added. The signature is ordinary page content, placed 50 points in from the nearest edges. If you leave the box empty, the word Signature is stamped instead.

Positions, size and what it accepts

One PDF at a time, with six positions: top or bottom, each left, center or right. Only the last page is ever changed.

• Input: a single .pdf file, up to the standard 200 MB per-file cap. • Size: a slider from 8 to 36 pt. • Font: Helvetica only, so characters outside the standard Latin set, such as Urdu, Arabic or Chinese, cannot be drawn. • Missing on purpose: no image, drawn or scanned signature, no page picker and no drag-to-place.

When a stamped name is enough, and when it is not

Use it for informal sign-offs where a printed name on the final page is acceptable. Reach for another tool when you need other pages or repeated text.

Good fits are a quick approval line at the bottom of a memo before you send it, or a name in the top corner of a printed handout. If you need the same text on every page, such as a draft label, Add Watermark is the better choice, and for running text in the margins use Add Header & Footer. If the PDF has fillable fields, complete them first with Fill PDF, then add your name.

Why this is not a cryptographic signature

The result is visible text, not a certificate-based digital signature, so it proves nothing about who signed or whether the file changed afterward.

Anyone with a PDF editor can delete or alter the stamped text, and the file contains no certificate, timestamp or hash. Contracts or filings that legally require a qualified or certificate-based signature need dedicated signing software. To see whether a PDF already carries signature fields, try Verify Signature, though that check is basic and does not validate anything cryptographically.

FAQ

Is this a legally binding digital signature?

No. It draws plain visible text onto the page. There is no certificate, no timestamp and no tamper protection, so it does not prove who added the text or that the file is unchanged. If a contract or filing needs a certificate-based signature, use dedicated signing software.

Can I sign a page other than the last one, or place the signature anywhere?

No. The text is always drawn on the last page, and only the six preset positions are offered. You cannot drag it to a custom spot or choose a different page.

Can I use my handwritten signature or a different font?

No. The tool has no image upload or drawing pad, and it only uses Helvetica. Characters outside the standard Latin set, such as Urdu, Arabic or Chinese, cannot be drawn with that font and may cause an error.

Can the stamped text be removed later?

Yes. It is ordinary page content, so anyone with a PDF editor can delete or edit it.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The text is added in your browser with pdf-lib and the file is not sent to a server.
